Hi, I'm Nan.
My name is Nan Ding and I have been cooking Chinese food for more than ten years. Dabao is my way of sharing the food I love most: everyday Chinese food, the kind people eat together around a table. The way it tastes in China, not adapted until it is unrecognisable.
After all those years at the stove I wanted the flavours of a real Chinese kitchen to be easy to bring into everyday life in Stockholm. Not as an outing, but as dinner on an ordinary evening when there is no time. So I cook the food ahead, in small batches and without hurry, and make it simple to take home.
The name 打包, dabao, roughly means packing your food to take home. That is exactly what this is: food from our kitchen to your table, with nothing lost on the way.

How we work
From the pot to the box, step by step
We want you to know exactly how the food is handled. This is how it goes.
1Cooked from scratch
Every dish is cooked in our kitchen in small batches and gets the time it needs. No ready-made sauces, no shortcuts.
2Chilled quickly
We portion the freshly cooked food into the boxes and then chill it quickly. Fast chilling is what keeps both flavour and quality.
3Labelled box by box
Then the lids go on and every box is labelled.
Every box is labelled with contents and allergens. If you have questions about how something is made, just ask.
Ingredients
Carefully chosen ingredients
Good Chinese food starts with good ingredients. We choose meat, vegetables and tofu with care and source the spices, pastes and sauces that give each dish its character, not the ones that happen to be closest to hand.
Vegetables follow the season, and when an ingredient is not up to standard we change the dish rather than lower the bar. That is why one dish on the menu changes over time.
A small kitchen with big pots
Dabao is a small operation, and that is the point. It means I know what is in every box, that I taste every batch, and that you can reach me directly if something does not feel right.

You pay Dabao Food AB and get a confirmation by email, with the amounts and the VAT. Cancel by 20.00 the evening before and you get the full amount back.
